I was granted my Sporting Terrier Licence by the ANKC circa 1960
and over the next 6 years became a member of the All Breeds ranks,
having completed annual assignments at most  of the Royal shows in Melbourne, Adelaide and other domestic shows in every state of Australia from Darwin to Hobart.  I was inducted into the Judges committee as a tutor for trainee judges and served both the KCC Victoria and KCC Tasmania for 20 years culminating in my elevation to life membership and remain active as an examiner of trainees until 2007

My first international appointment was a circuit in the USA lasting a week. The next visit overseas was to the shows conducted on Vancouver island where I was invited for return assignments every 5 years for 20 years. I have judged extensively in Canada at all breeds Championship Shows. Indonesia had me judge their Doberman Specialty, where top dogs from Europe attended.  I have judged in my native Holland, judged in Belgium from every group and my winners went on to supreme awards under other international judges.

I have been fortunate to judge the BIS at East of England (UK) and am still the
only Australian to judge the Fox Terrier Club (U.K.) where my selection of best Smooth Fox Terrier went on to Best in Show  over the wires under a top international wire fancier. Whilst in the U.K. I was honored to be the first Australian judge to officiate at the Hackney Horse Society in Yorkshire. The Philippines
and Singapore have provided me with outstanding memories of great dogs in
their well run shows.  I am considered a Terrier specialist, but I started
in the gundog group, bred and showed Dobermans and Danes. Min Pins gave
me entire to the toys, Shepherds and Collie Roughs to the herding group. World wide venues and high class dogs have filled our lives and repeated trips abroad from N.Z. to the Northern hemisphere have made dog folk friends around the globe.
